Kitchen hack of the week: 

We all hate wasting food, especially a lovely loaf of bread. Take that half loaf of ciabatta leftover from your family lunch and sprinkle a bit of water over it. Pop it in the heated oven for a few minutes to get it back to being soft and fresh, and perfectly ready for that delicious home-made chicken and veggie soup for your supper.

Health tip of the week:

Offices can be a difficult place to maintain a healthy diet…someone has brought in doughnuts for everyone, it’s someone’s birthday and so there is cake, someone suggests that the office orders take away for lunch…the list goes on. Make a habit of taking in your own cooler bag with lunch and snacks to keep you on the right track. Leftovers from supper are always a win for lunch the next day so try to make an extra serving if you can. Protein snacks like nuts, boiled eggs, slices of cheese and fresh fruit with natural yoghurt will keep your blood sugar levels stable, preventing that afternoon hunt for sugar.

Mushroom Ragu with Creamy Polenta 

We break with tradition here – instead of using meat in our rich tomato ragu, we use portabellini and brown mushrooms and butter beans. We add spinach because we hate you to forget your greens and we serve it on creamy polenta.

Vegetarian White Chilli with Home Made Mealie Bread 

White chilli is the most tasty comfort food that this planet has to offer. It just wouldn’t be fair to forget the vegetarians and this is what we have come up with. All the Tex-Mex spices, white beans, corn and cream cheese but instead of using shredded chicken we use potato cubes which absorb the fabulous flavour. Serve with mealie bread fresh from your oven.
